Let’s take a closer look and see how you can get started with selling on eBay.

First, you need to determine what you want to sell. What do you have available in your home? Are you going to make crafts that you can sell online? Or are you going to take the time to purchase particular items that you are going to “flip” for a profit? If you figure out what you think you want to sell, you want to start looking around and seeing if there is even a demand for the item that you are looking to sell. You can see how much they go for and if the time you invest is going to be worth the profit that you get in the end. This part takes a bit of time, but once you get over this hump, you will find that it’s a lot easier for you to get started with the rest of the process.

Next, you need to get some time management underway. If you are really serious about doing this eBay thing, then you want to make sure that you have an idea of what is going on and you want to set up times where you can focus solely on your business and what you are doing through your business. Those time periods can vary, but as you know, family life can get busy so you want to make sure that you are getting everything done in a timely manner and so that it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the life that you and your family are living at this point in time.

Lastly, you need to try and understand all you can about selling on eBay. Yes, that means that you should take time to sit down and read everything that they have to say so that you understand the fee charts and other information that is important to get before you get started with your business. Communicate with your spouse about this, too, so that they can check out what you’re doing and support you in your endeavors.

Ebay. Quick easy cash part 2

Part 2 of our ebay Series: Tips for Selling on eBay

So, you’ve decided that it’s time for you to get started with selling on eBay. That’s a big leap that you’re going to take there, and if you aren’t careful, it could end up being a lot more stressful than it’s worth. That being said, it’s important for you to understand some tips and tricks of the trade before you jump in and get started, so today, we’re going to take a look at some basic tips for selling your products and items on the e-commerce website, eBay.

Make sure that you’re paying attention to what eBay’s recommendations are. When you go to list an item, a whole bunch of recommendations are going to come up from eBay. Those can be anything from the price that you should list it at to the categories that you should place the item in. Even if you disagree a bit with what they’re saying, at least give the recommendations a look so that you understand where they’re coming from.

Try to be as specific as possible when listing an item, so that those looking for items like yours are able to find it more easily. Some people will specifically want the item that you are offering for sale. So why make it hard to find? Put it in specific categories where you would look for that same item if you were looking for it yourself.

Consider using upgrades for your listing so that you can get people’s attention when you sell them. Upgrades may cost a little bit more (usually in the cents range), but they may make it easier for your item to get noticed. You could have a sponsored item, you can make sure that your title is easy to see with bold or italics, you can add a subtitle or you can throw in additional pictures so that people can really get a good look at the item(s) that you’re selling. You don’t necessarily need upgrades to sell well, but they can be helpful.

Communication is absolutely at the core of everything that you will be doing when you run your own eBay business – understand how to use the communication tools and use them effectively. There are plenty of communication tools available through eBay, and because of that, it’s important that you learn where they are and how to use them. By communicating with buyers and potential buyers, you can help them to better understand what they’re getting and you can make sure that all of your customers are as satisfied as you can make them to be. In short, the better you are at communicating, the better you will be at selling, too.

So, as you can see, there are a lot of things that you can do in order to do well while selling on eBay. And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to do it either. Just a little bit of time and effort on your part can make it that much easier for you to get rolling with your eBay business. Good luck getting started!

Ebay. Quick easy Cash for your family!

Ok, I know you have probably seen about a million and one different websites promising to make you the next ebay millionaire.  I promise I will not be added to that list.   I actually have a LOVE/HATE relationship with ebay.  I love the extra money it brings to help my family and the effective marketplace that it offers, but I hate the drama that inevitably ensues with some ebay customers.  A lot of business people would suggest that you stay away from ebay, but I think it’s great for Moms who would like to earn quick and easy cash.

Take a look at these tips for getting started on ebay:

Basics to Selling on eBay

If you are looking to start selling products on eBay, there are a lot of things that you can do. eBay is a great place to get started with selling products because the layout is easy and you can get a nice profit, especially if you take advantage of certain markets during certain times of year. But how do you get started with selling on eBay? What can you do in order to get your feet off the ground?

The first thing that you need to do is to start setting up what eBay calls a seller account. These accounts allow you to sell your items on eBay and it will make sure that your PayPal settings are correct as well, so you are being charged appropriately (what you get charged will differ, check out their website for details.

Then, you need to take some time and figure out the appropriate listing for the item(s) that you are going to sell and figure out a fair price for you to sell them at. This may take a little bit of research, but you can look at current and past sales on eBay to get an idea of the target(s) that you are going for. You can also look on other websites and see what the same items are going for as well, so you can get more of an average price.

In some cases, you may want to set up a store, where you can sell multiple items at the same time. Your store can be a central hub for all of the stuff that you’re selling on eBay. Not everyone will need a store, but if you’re going to be putting in new stock on a regular basis or you have a lot of stock, then you will want to make sure that you have a store set up so that people who want to buy from you can go to your store (which is connected to your username), and buy directly from you instead of from several sources.

Lastly, make sure that you’re fulfilling your orders well. By doing that, you can be sure that the people you’re selling to will give you good feedback, which will help to improve your reputation and drive your sales. You want to make sure that you are friendly, that you offer appropriate communication, and that you get the item out to the person(s) as quickly as you possibly can. Also be sure that your items are listed accurately so that people aren’t disappointed with what they are getting from you. That way, you don’t have conflicts and you have positive feedback. The more people seem to like what you’re doing, the more likely people will come to you to buy items instead of buying from other people who may be selling it for the same price or less.

As you can see, starting to sell on eBay can be fairly simple, but it takes some time and effort on your part in order to make sure that things get done properly.

Avoiding Work-From-Home Scams

I’m willing to guess that you might have (once or twice) looked around the Internet for ideas to work from home. Sometimes when you click on the sites that pop up, you see large piles of money, or an attractive young woman (with a huge smile) holding wads of hundred dollar bills and saying, “If I can do it, so can you!!”

Sound familiar? Maybe you don’t want to admit it, but I’ll admit it for you: Yes. Yes, it does.

How do I know? Well, because I was once looking for a way to make money from home too.

Who wouldn’t want that pile of money?

Unfortunately, the old saying is absolutely correct. If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is too good to actually be true.

Dream Searchers Beware

Try avoiding websites with phrases like: “Make Thousands of Dollars This Week!” or home pages with money-making promises and lots of exclamation points.

Completely avoid the site if it asks for your Social Security Number or a credit card. Flashing, loud words and enticing pictures with huge promises are a waste of your time. Those sites know how to market; I’ll give them that, but that’s the only good thing that I have to say about them. When the hurting economy touches you personally, you may want to believe the outlandish claims, and that is exactly what those sites are hoping for.

They are prying on your insecurities and vulnerabilities. I’m actually really sorry if I crush your dreams by saying this, but I genuinely want to help you: There is no quick, easy way to start earning thousands of dollars a week. If there was, everyone would be doing it.

Once you actually build up a business, it’s completely practical…but not until then. Being a successful entrepreneur takes hard work, lots of time, and some beginning weeks with little pay.

Are There Ways to Make Money Online?

It is impossible to make thousands of dollars a week taking surveys and mystery shopping. Now, I’m not saying there aren’t legitimate sites for those types of things – there are. I know, because I’ve come across them. Unfortunately, you will not make a significant income from being a mystery shopper. If you’re looking for a way to make a little bit of extra spending money and you don’t mind making less than minimum wage, there are a small amount of legitimate companies out there… Pinecone Research pays for taking surveys and ICCDS pays for mystery shopping. Again, you will make less than minimum wage, but if you like that sort of thing, it can actually be fun. If you’re looking for a way to make mortgage and car payments, surveys and shopping aren’t the answer.

As you know, there are legitimate opportunities to make money online by working for other people. There are companies that pay $7-$13 for customer service agents and virtual assistants, but there are also scams directed at people who are looking for those types of positions. I’m here to direct you to places where you can start exploring the idea of being “your own boss”.

If you have aspirations to make more than minimum wage while being your own boss, focus your time and energy on developing a business plan. Yes – there are risks, but there’s also an opportunity for greatness. When you work for yourself, you’re working for your clients and your reputation. There will be some stressful times, but you’ll experience rewarding moments as well.
